Robyn Makes Sense
Making sense of it all!
Let me make sense of Robyn Makes Sense. All too often you see a commercial or read an article on the internet and have no idea what they are talking about and it can be super frightening. All these big words that when broken down can be easily explained. I started this blog to help you understand what is being said as well as to understand what is going on in your body. I like to simplify things in a way that a child can understand. Because deep down when a medical professional talks or gives us results we often turn to a child-like state and can be either scared or completely confused. I’m here to tell you it doesn’t have to be that way. By reading my blogs and using this site, we will help you understand what’s going on. If you have questions or need additional understanding, we are here for you.
I started this site after a lifetime of watching people get lost and confused when speaking to doctors. My mother suffered from a severe stroke 2 years go and, to be honest, it was scary. Probably one of the scariest things I lived through. You are literally in the hands of the medical professionals with nothing to do but wait. That’s not acceptable to me. I could not just sit there, so I did what I know best and that was read and study. I learned about other treatments and options and why one medication was better than another and I pushed and fought for my mother. Most medical professionals see you and your loved ones as a piece of paper. The patient’s chart defines them. Aren’t we all so much more than that? Shouldn’t we be given all points and possible outcomes? The answer is yes! Doctors and medical professionals just don’t have the time to educate every patient, so Robyn Makes Sense was born. I want to help patients and caregivers understand every step of the way. I want to help people feel less scared and confused. I want to help you figure out what’s next. I want to guide you to places that can help you with your situation, whatever that may be. I want to be there for you and your loved ones.
I’m not a medical professional and I’m in no way diagnosing patients or suggesting you make changes to your medical care without your doctor’s consent. I simply want to empower you with information so that when you speak with your doctors, you understand what they are saying and can ask the right questions to further help you be involved with your care. After all, you know your body better than anyone, shouldn’t you have a say in it’s care?
